Sepang International Circuit Announce Fastest Way to the F1 Race 2008.

Express Rail Link (ERL) and Sepang International Circuit (SIC) jointly announced the KLIA Transit Formula One Transfer Package, the fastest way to the race, today at a media event held in Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal (KL CAT).

At the launch ceremony, Dr Aminuddin Adnan, CEO ERL, said he was very honoured to share the stage with YBhg Dato Azmi Murad who has steadily built the Malaysian GP into its 10th year and the most prestigious world sporting event here in Malaysia successfully.

He added, “ERL is now into our 6th year in supporting the Malaysian Grand Prix. Since we introduced this hassle-free transfer to the race in 2003, motor racing fans have been increasingly selecting this preferred mode of transport to the F1 race. Last year we carried close to 6,000 fans over the three days of which over 90% were foreigners. We earnestly hope to entice more Malaysians to switch to this mode of transport to the race. As in previous year, we are putting in additional trains and shuttle coaches at peak hours especially after the races, to ensure fans enjoy quick transfers.”

Reciprocating at the event, YBhg Dato Azmi Murad, Senior General Managing SIC said, “With an anticipated attendance of 125,000 spectators and tens of thousands of vehicles converging at the circuit for the race, we can expect traffic congestion. In that context, I personally urge racing fans to use public transportation to come for the race. The best move would be to take full advantage of the amazing package being offered by ERL to come to the circuit and enjoy the race.”

Available on the KLIA Transit, these F1 Transfer Packages are priced at RM80 for the Race-Day Package per person and RM120 for the Three-Day Package per person. The fare includes a two-way high speed train ride on KLIA Transit plying between KL Sentral and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and a two-way bus shuttle between KLIA and SIC.

The KLIA Transit Formula One Transfer Package can be purchased at all ERL stations except Salak Tinggi.
