AirAsia launches 50,000 Free Seats For All Domestic Destinations

KUALA LUMPUR, 18 March 2008 – There are thousands of reasons why you should take a break and at AirAsia, there’s only one reason that counts. It’s the AirAsia FREE SEATS campaign! This time around, AirAsia is giving away 50,000 free seats for all its domestic destinations from all its four hubs; LCC Terminal (Kuala Lumpur), Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Johor Bahru. All free* seats will be available for online booking only.

From the LCC Terminal hub, AirAsia will offer free seats to 14 points including Alor Star, Bintulu, Johor Bahru, Kota Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Labuan, Langkawi, Miri, Penang, Sibu, Sandakan, Tawau and Terengganu. From Johor Bahru hub, the free seats will offer flights to Miri, Penang, Sibu and Kota Kinabalu.

From its East Malaysia hubs, Kuching the airline flies to Bintulu, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Miri, Penang and Sibu, while Kota Kinabalu hub services Miri, Penang, Sandakan and Tawau.

The free seats are available for the following dates :-
Booking period : 18 – 21 March 2008

Travel period : 11 June – 25 September 2008

Formula One Fever

As an official Airline for AT&T Williams and in conjunction with the upcoming Malaysian Formula One race taking place this weekend, the team’s drivers, Nico Rosberg and Kazuki Nakajima will be making a grand appearance at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) between 10.00am and 12.00pm, on Thursday (20 March 2008). The public can also ‘test drive’ the AT&T Williams race car simulator which will be displayed at the concourse of LCC Terminal, Kuala Lumpur International Airport from 19 to 20 March 2008. AT&T Williams Formula One fans stand a chance to meet and greet the drivers and experience a simulator ride on the Formula One car between the two days.

Other Happenings

Several exciting events taking place within the 50,000 FREE SEATS’ travel period (11 June to 25 September) include the 23rd Sabah Dragon Boat Race 2008 on 15 June in Kota Kinabalu, located 2½ hours flight from Kuala Lumpur which is also reachable via Johor Bahru and Kuching with AirAsia’s extensive connectivity. The Japan GT is also taking place in June, from 17 to 22 in Sepang International Circuit, Selangor.

In July, one should not miss out the Rainforest World Music Festival happening from 11 to 13 July. Musicians from around the world will converge in Kuching, Sarawak every year for the ethnic music showcase that attracts throngs of ardent music lovers. It is definitely not an event to be missed!

Other events to look out for are the Malaysia Flora Fest 2008 (18 July – 3 August), World Lion Dance Championship in Genting Highlands (18 -20 July), Malaysia International Fireworks (15 – 30 August) and many others.
